I draw on my mental health nursing expertise to provide psychotherapy, education and wellness coaching. I strive to empower others to increase their mental health literacy, acknowledge stigma and advocate for understanding.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Ryerson University, and went on to achieve a Master of Psychiatric Nursing degree from Brandon University. I have worked in almost every area of mental health – out-patient therapy, psychiatric emergency, first episode psychosis and teaching at the post secondary level. I have experience with psychotherapy, research based cognitive behavioural therapy and group facilitation.
“I love working in mental health, and at some point I decided that my passion could be turned into advocacy – helping to show others why language and stigma matter.”
My husband and I have 5 kids, and live in Kincardine, ON. Together we tackle a busy life filled with hockey, gymnastics, and more hockey. Several years ago, I decided to open my first small business, focused on hand made and small batch dyed baby items. Being a small business owner, on top of working full time and being a mom, I understood first-hand how difficult it can be at times, especially in regard to my own work life balance, wellness and need for self care.
