The Bluewater Education Foundation

About Us

The Bluewater Education Foundation is an independent, arm's length Foundation that works in partnership with the Bluewater District School Board and the community. We preserve and enhance programs like outdoor education not normally funded by the Ministry of Education at the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre. We enrich our rural community by creating opportunities for learning beyond the classroom for children, youth and adults.

The BEF runs events and programming on-site at the BOEC, including children's programming in the summer and during school holidays; educational programming for community members; and informational programs for guests of the BOEC. We are also responsible for renting the facility for use at times when it is available, for events and groups that align with our vision:

A safe, self-sufficient campus for outdoor education providing fun, immersive experiences in nature that encourage personal commitment to environmentally sustainable actions ?that build resilient communities.
